Newbold-on-Avon 49 - Moseley Oak

The first match of the new season away at Newbold was always going to be very tough and so it proved.
It was a real challenge up front and numerous penalties were conceded against a strong Newbold scrum.
Newbold went 5-0 up after some heavy pressure. The try was converted by their outside half who kicked beautifully all day.
Moseley responded with a try on the left wing after excellent handling in midfield; an area where Sam Atkin and Paul Cox were strong all day.
A pushover try and a penalty try saw the score at 5-21. However, a yellow card and uncontested scrums due to injury saw Moseley playing with 13 players for 10 minutes and 14 players for the second half.
This effectively ended the game as a contest and the powerful carrying of the home side saw four further tries all of which were converted.
The positives from this were the attacks from broken play, however no team wins matches without any possession.
