Hereford 20 - 13 Moseley Oak

This was another tough assignment. With one prop withdrawing on the morning of the game due to illness, another playing with a similar condition, and with another 10 or so unavailable, Oak were up against it.

Hereford began with good ball retention and their pressure was rewarded after 10 minutes with a penalty. Moseley rallied and fast ball just outside the Hereford 22 saw Jack Richards in a race for the line against his opposite number. He duly scored in the corner.

Hereford's forwards worked hard and a penalty enabled them to kick to the corner and score from the lineout drive.

Four minutes later a mistake in midfield saw the home side hack the ball on and win the race for the ball.

Down 15-5 at the start of the second half, Moseley began to get some moments of control of their own scoring a penalty through Tom Johnson. However, Hereford managed to convert a 3 man overlap on the left to increase their lead.

The final quarter was littered with yellow cards with one for Moseley and four for Hereford as they tried to halt the visitors attacks through persistent infringements.

Finally a piece of unpenalised play was possible and Chris Fensome scored on the right.

Only a bonus point to show but with injured and unwell players returning improvement will come.
