A first win of the season for Moseley Oak against a Stratford side that included former stalwart Craig Voisey and coached by another former distinguished Moseley player, Marcus Cook.
Moseley had taken some time to come to terms of Midlands One, however today they competed well. 3-3 at half time became 6-6 after two Ollie Thomas penalties. Yellow cards were issued to both sides in the second half including to two of Moseley Oak's standout players Ben Gerry and Paul Cox.
Good pressure up the slope in the second half led to Moseley's try with James Weaver driving over. Two minutes to hold out and they did it.
Strong defence from Ben Gerry, Charley Thomas and Paul Cox led the way along with strong contributions from Duncan White, Neil Mason and James Williams aided by sound kicking from Ollie Thomas at 9 laid the foundations for this first win. Sutton Coldfield next Friday evening presents another test in this demanding league.
