Moseley Oak 34 Stoke on Trent 5

After a mixed period in October and much of November, Moseley Oak have now staged an admirable recovery and have won 3 of the last 4 games.

The visit to Stoke at the start of this season's campaign saw a defeat from a fast and well drilled Stoke team who are coached by former Moseley player, Graham Smith.

This time Moseley put in a much better performance and got a much needed bonus point win.

A strong opening down the slope was rewarded with a try from a driven lineout after 17 minutes which was followed shortly afterwards by a Charley Thomas try.

Tom Peake then got himself a double with 2 tries before half time.

Stoke responded with a try from their strong running Tight Head.

22-5 at half time.

The second half, up the slope, proved tougher and was brought to life by a fine James Weaver try, an Ollie Thomas dummy and score under the posts and some resolute and well organised defending.

The Christmas break upon us and Moseley in 7th place.
