Whitchurch 5 - 21 Moseley Oak
Moseley Oak secured their second away win in January with a tough and hard earned success at Whitchurch.
Moseley expected a strong home set piece and that very much proved to be the case with the early scrummages giving Whitchurch a significant advantage. It was clear that Moseley needed to change direction and they did so by making a player change and bringing on another hooker which gave them a more stable platform.
The Moseley line out also began to function and despite a home score just before half time, tries from Angus Low and Tom Johnson along with 11 points from the boot of Ollie Thomas were enough to see them home. Robust defence, strong team spirit and an ability to modify the game plan were the critical ingredients of a victory at a place where it is always hard to win.
Wolverhampton at home next week - things are getting better.
