Moseley Oak 25 - 19 Wolverhampton
Moseley Oak further strengthened their position in Midlands One with a determined win over a spirited Wolverhampton side. Moseley began strongly and raced into a 17-0 lead through tries from James Weaver and Kain Aldren-Barnett. Ollie Thomas added two conversions and a penalty.
Wolverhampton rallied and after a period of pressure Moseley conceded a yellow card and then a try on the stroke of half time.
Seven minutes into the second half Moseley had built a good attacking position playing up the slope, but with all the players attacking left, the ball was lost on the right and Wolverhampton raced 90 metres to score under the posts.
More was to come as missed tackles in midfield let in a converted try but then the home side responded. Waves of forward drives won a penalty before Angus Low’s try made it 25-19. Moseley Oak closed out the match with real control.
Now in the top half of Midlands One, the aim is to stay there by season end.
