Moseley Oak 21 - 24 Bournville
Moseley Oak looked to continue their strong run of form against third placed Bournville, in a local derby at Billesley Common. Oak started well with a 5 pointer through Duncan White, who broke through a couple of tackles to score near the posts. After a series of penalties to the home side, this was followed soon afterwards with a penalty try from a powerful driving maul.
A turnover after the restart allowed Bournville an attack at the Moseley line, and they took advantage with an unconverted try. Moseley responded with another driving maul try from Jide Ajayi, and the half time score was 21-5.
Bournville opened the second half well and scored an early try. Shortly afterwards, Bournville's right winger broke through two tackles to make the score 21-17 and it was game on. Oak spent the next few minutes in the Bournville half an managed to apply some pressure.
However, Moseley Oak were to be undone at the death. Following a scrum 5m out from the Bournville line, the ball was turned over and Bournville broke away down the left touchline. The ball was recycled to the right, and although there were suspicions that the last pass was forward, the right winger finished off in the corner to give Bournville the lead. This was how it ended, 21-24 to Bournville.
